Not only was writing the order of the day on Wednesday, April 17 at the John Fox, Jr. Literary Festival, but also food. Commemorating a decade of The Origin Project, the late Nancy Bolmeier Fisher began collecting recipes from members of our TOP family, as well as consistent supporters of The Origin Project’s mission. Nancy believed the conversations and the rituals around the dining room table gave birth to lasting memories. She asserted that food equals love. Food brings people together.
The cookbook contains recipes from Appalachia across the globe to Afghanistan. Often at The Origin Project’s author events, particularly at The Origin Project’s Annual Literary Festival at the Library of Virginia, students prepare dishes to share with classmates and students from other schools.
